Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 20 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg night shift position in Michigan, requiring at least one year of recent Med / Surg experience and a valid MI RN license. Responsibilities Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting May float to other Med / Surg units based on patient needs Patient population includes orthopedics, neurovascular, cardiac, pulmonary, and a range of surgical patients such as GI, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5-6 during nights, with support from LPNs when ratios flex higher Night shift, working four 12-hour shifts per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Required to work every other weekend Variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Techs, collaborate on the unit No requests for time off allowed during the first 8 days of the assignment No holiday time off requests accepted; dates may be discussed with manager for unit accommodation Travelers are first to float to other units as needed, typically about once per week Returning staff are eligible after a 6-month separation period Locals are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions Modules are non-billable, completed during orientation and annually, and are self-reported Requirements Active Michigan RN license required Current BLS (AHA) certification; pending acceptable with willingness to obtain Minimum 1 year recent Med / Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred Comfortable working with a multidisciplinary team Proof of flu vaccination required; exemption requests must be submitted promptly if needed References required for job consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618490.
