A Mid Sized Hospital is seeking a General Surgery Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage.
About the clinician's workday
Duties include :
- Screen patients and perform complete histories and physical examinations.
- Order / prescribe necessary medications, laboratory and radiologic studies, routine fluids, diets, patient activities, and similar patient care orders.
- Perform surgical assistant responsibilities including handling tissue, providing exposure, using instruments, suturing and tying, and providing hemostasis.
- Respond to the Emergency Room to manage and / or assist with trauma resuscitation.
- Instruct patients on discharge information, home care of wounds, use of medication, diet, or other aspects of health care.
