Occupational Therapist- School-Based - Full Time
Location : Reno, NV
Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Reno, NV.This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a school setting, providing occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs and contributing to their educational success and independence.
Responsibilities :
Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and functional performance in school environments.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals based on evaluation findings and IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirements.
Provide direct occupational therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, sensory integration techniques, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students' participation and engagement in academic and social activities.
Monitor and document students' progress, prepare progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings to review goals and determine ongoing therapy needs.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state regulations and school policies.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Currentlicense or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic school environment.
