About The Position
Job Title : Endoscopy Tech / GI Tech Job Specialty : GI / Endo Technician Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day 4x10-Hour (07 : 00 - 17 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of one year of experience within the last five years in a clinical or hospital-based GI procedure unit or a surgical procedure room setting.
Preferred experience includes one year as a GI Tech or scrub tech. License : Valid State License preferred at time of submission Certifications : BLS required;
SGNA GI Assistant Certification preferred Must-Have : Prior endoscopy experience Job Description : Assist the RN and Physician by being proficient with the technical components, supplies, and equipment involved in Endoscopy procedures.
- Support the provider throughout diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.- Set up and prepare rooms pre-procedure and perform turnaround post-procedure.
- Assist with Endoscopy procedures in the ICU and Operating Room as needed.- Responsible for transporting appropriate equipment and setting up in various locations.
- Conduct pre-cleaning and decontamination of the endoscope.- Work across an ambulatory surgery center and inpatient unit.
- Potential overnight and weekend call based on experience.- Must be able to use the aerial tram between locations. - Epic experience required.
- Must have BLS certification. - Compliance document deadline is one week prior to start, and labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing.
- Return staff policy requires a gap of more than six months.
