Job Description :
The Communications Technician is the primary role for the Data-Comm division with job responsibilities ranging from cable installation to advanced troubleshooting and mentoring.
Work includes projects involving low voltage, structured cable, and / or fiber installations.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Complete tasks as assigned, maintain personal production goals, and perform work accurately and timely.
- Coordinate installation work with other team members using effective and professional communication.
- Set the work pace and demonstrate an excellent attitude to provide role model for others.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of trade practices and code, tools and equipment, theory, and installation skills.
- Responsible for keeping current with applicable industry codes, standards, and installation techniques.
Requirements :
- years verifiable work experience in telecommunications to understand the various categories of copper and fiber optic cables.
- to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- to install and build out closets with minimal supervision.
- competence and high standard of excellence in the following areas : tool knowledge and mastery, blueprint reading, installing cable supports and pathways, dress cables, terminate various types of connectors, and work safety.
- attention to detail and work ethic.
- to effectively communicate with supervisors, employees, and clients.
- skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents.
