Description
As a Tanks Manufacturing Engineer , you will be responsible for developing processes for dome, structures, and tank manufacturing for Helios.
Helios is Impulse's new vehicle - a 3rd stage / kick stage. Launching in 2026, it is designed to take satellites & payloads to GEO for 1 / 3rd of today's current cost.
Responsibilities
- Work with Responsible Engineers to solidify proper manufacturing processes
- Develop & optimize manufacturing processes for tank integration & supporting structures
- Own the entire manufacturing life cycle for assigned projects & hardware
- Work directly with machinists & technicians to produce high-quality hardware
- Work directly with outside vendors
- Update designs, manufacturing processes, and documentation to support continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or related field
- Demonstrated experience of developing manufacturing processes from scratch
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment
- 2+ years of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline
- 6+ years of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience within aerospace or related industry
- Previous experience working within a start-up
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience with welding (laser, friction stir weld, TIG, etc.)
