Job Description :
The senior scientist will be a member of the Research and Early Development LDT / RUO and Pharma services team in Pleasanton, California.
Candidate will bring in technical depth, creativity, and curiosity to support activities through exploratory research and prototype assay transfer to development.
By collaborating within a team, you will work hands-on in the laboratory through all research and early development phase of the project.
Responsibilities :
Designs, plans and execute assigned research and / or development-related experiments / projects utilizing established and innovative procedures, and applying scientific knowledge and accumulated experience to complete projects.
Contributes to the definition and timely achievement of overall project goals.
Makes recommendations, and when appropriate, acts independently to resolve scientific problems encounters during the experimental procedures to improve productivity of results.
Ensure activities are consistent with project critical path and responds appropriately to changing priorities.
Accurately and consistently records experimental methods, materials, and results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
Analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions and implements / documents process improvements.
Integrates previous and current results to determine next experimental steps and the impact of long-range project goals.
Present findings at group or departmental meetings.
Apply advanced technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.
May assist in preparing summaries, memos, internal report, presentations, manuscripts etc.
Requirements :
Master s / Bachelor s in life sciences, chemical sciences, or related scientific field with 5 / 7+ relevant industry experience.
Proficiency with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, molecular cloning.
Proficiency with advanced data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP.
Knowledge of Next generation sequencing based workflows including target enrichment, and library preparation is preferred.
Experience with droplet-digital PCR and NGS platforms is preferred.
Ability to collaborate within and across teams with attention to details and critical
thinking.
