We're looking for an object-oriented Associate Software Engineer who takes pride in backend development to contribute to building innovative, scalable applications in pursuit of a great user experience.

You’ll help develop the next generation of residential products, apps, and services. You’ll gain experience in many different areas and have the opportunity to make a real impact to the company and real estate industry.

This position is located in Washington, DC and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high performance web applications used by hundreds of thousands of users globally
  • Design and develop using Object Oriented design principles and software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability
  • Promote consistent architecture patterns for design and development within and across Homes development teams
  • Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers across the organization.
  • Advocate standards-driven technology
  • Facilitate discussions among other .NET and database developers to exchange new ideas and improvements
  • Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or Engineering preferred)
  • 1-2+ years of production development experience with C# .Net (or .Net Core)
  • Experience delivering products that meet specifications and performance SLA
  • Experienced in unit, performance, and automation testing
  • Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • Experience in relational database design (MS SQL or MySQL) including performance tuning
  • Experience with AWS S3, SQS, Dynamo, ElastiCache, Apache Kafka and Datadog
  • Demonstrate working knowledge Vue, React or Angular in TypeScript
  • A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products and platforms
