Job Summary :

The Automation Service Supervisor oversees a team of Automation Mechanical Technicians and is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of automated systems within the production environment.

This role involves supervising daily activities, managing maintenance schedules, and ensuring that all automated systems function optimally to support production goals.

The Automation Service Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the company's commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Supervise and lead a team of Automation Mechanical Technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all automated machinery and systems.
• Coordinate and prioritize maintenance and repair tasks in alignment with production schedules to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production managers and engineers to identify and resolve automation issues and optimize system performance.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety standards across all automation processes.
• Conduct regular inspections of automated systems to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the design, assembly, and installation of new automation systems and upgrades to existing systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels.
• Manage the procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the production team on automation-related issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability and efficiency of automated systems.

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven ladder logic.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues in automated systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.

Education and Experience :

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation or mechanical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with cannabis production processes is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
• Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed.
