Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manger to lead and manage water and wastewater treatment projects.

This role requires extensive experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to excellence in project delivery. Join our team to contribute to the success of our Water / Wastewater Division, ensuring top-quality standards and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Planning and Execution :

  • Support master planning and conceptual design for water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Assist in determining fees and preparing proposals for client engagement.
  • Oversee all phases of assigned engineering projects from design through construction completion.

Team Leadership and Mentorship :

Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers and CAD technicians, promoting a collaborative and innovative environment.

Client Interaction and Stakeholder Management :

  • Act as the primary contact for clients, contractors, and other design disciplines.
  • Proactively engage with project stakeholders including partners, federal authorities, local landowners, business owners, and regulatory bodies.

Technical Expertise and Project Oversight :

  • Provide technical guidance during project pursuits and bid interviews.
  • Review initial project contracts, resolving specification and scheduling issues.
  • Manage project and construction decisions, including risk identification, change order negotiations, and ensuring efficient project execution.

Financial Management :

  • Assist in monitoring design budgets and project schedules.
  • Oversee project budgets, approve client invoicing, and contribute to collection and receivable efforts.

Safety and Compliance :

  • Promote safety by ensuring compliance with safety programs, procedures, and owner policies.
  • Review weekly safety reports and participate in monthly safety meetings.

Reporting and Documentation :

  • Develop and manage project schedules, pay estimates, procedures, and resource allocation.
  • Present monthly project reports to executive leadership.

Legal and Contractual Resolution :

  • Address disputes with project owners in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and executive leadership as needed.

Project Closeout and Debrief :

  • Lead project closeout procedures, finalize contracts, obtain retainages, and resolve claims.
  • Conduct project debriefs to review all aspects of project completion.

Continuous Improvement and Additional Responsibilities :

  • Provide input on equipment procurement methods and contracts.
  • Undertake additional assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications : Required :

Required :

  • 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, including 10+ years in water / wastewater treatment.
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Registered PE license in Colorado or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Desired :

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in water / wastewater treatment.
  • Minimum 10 years with a PE license.
  • Masters degree in Environmental Engineering.
  • Proficiency with Civil3D, FlowMaster, BioWin.
  • Field experience in construction and operations.
  • Strong interest in participating in company initiatives.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with technical staff on multiple projects.
