The School of Engineering at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking multiple part-time instructors (Lecturer / Coadjutant) for the Fall 2023 and / or Spring 2024 semester to teach first year introduction to engineering and introduction to computer for engineering courses.
- The successful candidates will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to, preparing course material;
- teaching during the assigned course times; supervising a group of teaching and learning assistants; holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students;
- responding to student e-mails; conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means, in a timely manner;
and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, online, or any combination of these.
Prior college teaching experience in the course topic area is preferred. In your application, please include (1) a cover letter, (2) your curriculum vitae, (3) the names and addresses of at least three references, and (4) a teaching statement providing evidence of effective and inclusive teaching.
