We are working with an award-winning, creative marketing agency who is seeking their next Director of Finance & Accounting.
You will be pivotal in managing and optimizing our financial operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic guidance to all of business units.
This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and a passion for driving business growth.
What you’ll do :
Financial Planning & Analysis :
- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support business objectives.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leaders of business units for strategic decision-making.
Accounting Management :
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
- Lead all financial initiatives, as necessary
Cash Flow Management :
- Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash reserves to optimize liquidity.
- Implement strategies to mitigate cash flow risks and optimize working capital efficiency.
- Establish and maintain relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.
Compliance & Risk Management :
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including tax laws, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Coordinate audits and examinations by external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Strategic Planning & Decision Support :
- Collaborate with senior leaders of business units to develop long-term financial strategies and goals.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business initiatives, investments, and expansion plans.
- Evaluate the financial implications of strategic decisions and recommend courses of action.
Team Leadership & Development :
- Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities to 2-3 direct reports to enhance their skills and performance.
What You Have :
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior finance role, preferably within the marketing / advertising, scenic fabrication, or experiential industries.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and digestible reports.
- Strong proficiency in financial planning and analysis tools.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across business units and lead a team of 2-3 financial professionals.
- A willingness to wear many hats, dive into high-pressure situations with tight timelines, and get your hands dirty in daily tasks if necessary.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving financial performance and business growth.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Work Environment :
This is a full-time position and employees must be available to work during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, in Mountain and Pacific time zones.
Occasional travel or evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- While this position is considered remote-first, it may be expected to travel regularly for client and team needs.
