RWJBarnabas Health, the largest health care provider in NJ, is seeking a *Section Chief within the Northern Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery for Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) *at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC).
This surgical leader will be expected to help pilot the defining program for NBIMC, the health system’s principle heart transplant center.
Clinically, this leader will oversee the surgical section through excellence in care, modernized protocols and care algorithms, and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
The Section Chief will provide clinical oversight over all heart transplants and ventricular assist device implantations at NBIMC, while working in conjunction with the Clinical Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery, hospital’s administrative team, and system service line.
Clinically performing cardiothoracic surgery while administratively providing leadership, strategy, and oversight over the core competencies of the Northern Region regarding transplantation, VADs, and ECMO.
Candidate Requirements : 10+ years of experience* B / C in Cardiothoracic Surgery* NJ licensed, or eligible for licensure* Candidates must be prominent leaders in surgical heart transplantation* Candidates have demonstrated high quality outcomes in both heart transplantation and the implementation of mechanical surgical support devices / LVADs* Experienced in multiple location / large systems-based transplant and mechanical circulatory support programs* Proven track record of success in growth, quality, and achieving the highest level of patient careAs the largest integrated health care system in New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health offers competitive compensation and a robust benefits package including health, life, disability and malpractice insurance, 401k / retirement, plus PTO and added time off for CME.
