Position Summary :
The IT Digital Asset Management (DAM) Business Systems Analyst performs duties that require working knowledge of digital preservation principles to organize, ingest, and disseminate born-digital records, including audio and video materials for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.
As a member of the Information Technology Services team, the Systems Analyst will support the DAM and MAM (Media Asset Management) applications and internal IT processes, including documenting best practices for the cyber-security and information governance initiatives, completing migration projects, and assisting digital preservation tasks.
Position Elements :
- Analyze and understand the quality of large data sets for several types of digital assets and assist data management projects in both cloud and on-premises storage environments.
- Perform file analysis and correct metadata for materials in the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) either by manual or automated processes.
- Complete complex file inventories, file verification, and data normalization, including data entry pertaining to digital preservation best practices.
- Perform data migrations for multiple types of digital records in the DAMS and SharePoint.
- Maintain metadata models, taxonomies, and help enforce metadata tagging rules.
- Suggest revisions for best-practices documentation, naming conventions, and better search experiences in the DAMS.
- Support DAMS users and offer feedback and solutions for streamlining procedures to improve the user experience in the DAMS.
- Perform quality assurance tests for new DAMS enhancements and upgrades.
- Assist in the research and vetting of new tools for project management, content management, and other IT projects.
- Effectively communicate business requirements to technical staff and IT consultants.
Position Requirements :
- At least one academic year of completed study in a MLIS degree program, Computer Science program, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant cataloging or data entry experience, especially updating information in a digital asset management or media asset management system or tagging metadata to digital objects.
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Premiere.
- Highly proficient with MS Office suite, especially Excel and SharePoint.
