Capitol Tax & Accounting Group has been providing comprehensive financial services to residential and commercial clients in Madison, WI and the surrounding areas since 2013.
We’re a small, growing firm with a long history of success in the areas of individual, corporate, trust, estate, and gift tax return preparation, along with consulting, bookkeeping, and payroll.
Our focus is to deliver assurance, tax, accounting, and specialized solutions that provide the information needed to successfully manage our client’s business and everyday life.
We assist our clients with creating a growth plan combined with a tax strategy to leverage any potential tax benefits that may exist.
JOB SUMMARY
- Prepare, review, and analyze tax returns and tax plans for partnerships, trusts, individuals, and corporations.
- Prepare and review financial statements to enable accurate, timely, and informed decision-making
- Review less senior team members completed tax returns for accuracy, and provide feedback for learning opportunities
- Prepare tax projections to assist clients with tax planning
- Hold tax consulting meetings with business owners to educate and advise on upcoming business decisions
- Provide education and advice about income tax related topics
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, while providing exceptional client service though exceptional client service interactions, communication, and timeliness
- Utilizes strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills to assist with client needs regarding individual and business decisions
PREFERRED SKILLS
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) designation preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Minimum 5 years tax preparation experience
- Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess tax software experience preferred
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills
