Job Overview :
A leading California-based law firm specializing in consumer protection and Lemon Law litigation is seeking an Entry-Level Associate Attorney for its Newport Beach, California office.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of litigation, including discovery, law & motion work, oral arguments, and trial preparation.
The ideal candidate will have 6 months to 3 years of litigation experience and a passion for advocating on behalf of consumers.
Location :
Newport Beach, CA
Duties :
- Draft written discovery requests and responses.
- Review document productions and participate in e-discovery.
- Draft responses to discovery requests for consumer clients.
Law & Motion Work :
- Draft motions related to discovery disputes.
- Respond to pleading challenges.
- Prepare for and participate in oral arguments, case management conferences, and ex parte requests.
Depositions :
- Attend and defend depositions of consumer clients.
- Take depositions of percipient witnesses.
Vehicle Inspections :
Attend vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.
Other Responsibilities :
- Ensure timely reporting and billing for hours worked.
- Opportunities to assist with dispositive motions, complex depositions, and trial preparation.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by partners.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 6 months of litigation experience as a California-licensed attorney.
- Strong interest in consumer protection and litigation.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, vehicle inspections, and depositions.
- Ability to lift and / or move up to 20 pounds.
Education :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications :
Active member in good standing with the California Bar.
Skills :
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex legal issues.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).
