Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Speech-language Pathology from a CAA-accredited program
- Certified with Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) by ASHA, Clinical Fellow candidates also encouraged to apply
- Licensed or eligible for licensure with the state of Minnesota
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Experience with dysphagia and neurological disorders preferred
- Experience with pediatrics preferred
- Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work with patients across the full age spectrum, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric
Competencies :
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of normal and pathologic anatomy and physiology.
- Exhibits high level of skill in differential diagnosis process and clinical decision making.
- Effectively utilizes EHR.
- Effectively assess outcomes, both functional and patient reported.
Job Responsibilities :
- Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
- Performing screenings appropriate to speech disorders, swallowing, and cognition.
- Educating patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
- Keeping detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
- Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
- Other duties as assigned.
