TRAINING MATERIAL SPECIALIST
Required Skills and Experience
1-3 years of experience as a Tech Writer, training material developer, or documenting for an organization that uses software products.
Experience using Articulate or other training simulation tools (Camtasia, etc.) to create training material
Basic Excel experience (able to put together tables, simple formulas, charts)
Proficient using Microsoft Suite, specifically Word and PowerPoint
Strong organization skills
Ability to draw a process map (preference in Visio)
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
Experience creating training material for a software deployments.
Job Description
An employer in the gas turbines industry is looking a Training Material Developer to join the team on a hybrid schedule in San Diego, CA.
This person will be responsible for creating and updating internal materials which will be used to teach employees about different software related tools.
This person will not be responsible for teaching the material, but will be the sole person creating the curriculum. This person will develop job aids and simulations using Articulate.
They will write and edit outlines, syllabus lecture notes and other materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs.
They will also establish metrics to use which will evaluate training effectiveness. They will work closely with the trainers and subject matter experts to design appropriate course content and create class plans.
