Woodlands Animal Hospital is a fast-paced privately-owned veterinary hospital located in Oldsmar, FL. Our philosophy is simple : provide good, progressive medicine with compassionate care.
This philosophy is why our clients love us! We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Veterinarian Technician to join our team.
Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery.
You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, wed like to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor with appointments
- Conduct technician appointments under the the guidance of the doctor.
- Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history
- Take vital signs and acquire blood samples
- Collect samples and prepare / process labs
- Assist with surgeries and dental procedures
- Monitor animals after surgery and prepare go-home instructions
- Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients
- Keep accurate and timely patient records
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician
- Ability to obtain blood samples, insert IVs, intubate, induce and monitor anesthesia
- Knowledge of animal care and handling
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
- Patience and a love for animals
- Knowledge of Pulse a plus!
- CVT a huge plus!
