Environmental Project Manager Pipelines

POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients.

We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager with experience in pipeline permitting and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) compliance documentation to join our 360 + person environmental team.

This is a full-time, salaried position with a great benefits package and remote work-from-home as an option. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.

This remote opportunity can be based in Denver, CO, Freeport, ME, Fort Worth, TX, Portland, OR, Boise, ID, Houston, TX or Minneapolis, MN.

Roles and Responsibilities

The primary focus for this Project Manager is to provide environmental services and strategies to clients involving routing, permitting, and construction of midstream pipelines for natural gas, hydrogen, crude oil, and other similar products.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to :

  • Manage multiple projects in various phases of development and geographic location ranging from routing / siting phase to construction compliance phase
  • Manage and direct resource teams on environmental studies and associated permit applications including FERC Section 7(C) applications and Third-party EIS documents
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project permitting
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, GIS analysts, permitting and environmental resource specialists, land agents, and construction compliance monitors
  • Communicate with the public and community stakeholders at hearings and public meetings
  • Client coordination including preparing and monitoring project scope, budget, schedule, and forecasting
  • Business development with new and existing clients, preparing proposals and presentations, and attending industry conferences
  • Participate in field reviews, project compliance inspections, and site meetings
  • Travel up to 25% of time for client and internal meetings

Required Education / Experience

  • B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related degree
  • Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience managing environmental licensing and permitting of pipelines
  • Expertise in regulations pursuant to the Natural Gas Act administered by FERC with a working knowledge in other applicable federal environmental regulations is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Base Salary Range : $125K - $145K

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job related knowledge, skills, experience and education.

This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
