Senior Property Accountant!

A prominent 50-year-old Real Estate Development and Management Firm with a large multi-state property portfolio is looking to hire a Senior Property Accountant to join the team.

This will be a vital and integral role responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and administrative support.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor degree in accounting along with solid experience related to commercial real estate property accounting.

Responsibilities :

• The primary responsibility of the Senior Property Accountant will be to oversee various accounting operations including accounts receivable, budgets and forecasting, general ledger, and monthly / annual close.
• Prepare detailed month-end, quarterly, and annual variance analytics and financial statements.
• Prepare CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and billings.
• Assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures.
• Review property budgets and forecasts.
• Work cohesively with asset management, development, and property management teams to accurately produce accounting information.
• Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.

Requirements :

• B.S. Degree in Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years of demonstrated Property Accounting experience within the commercial real estate industry.
• Extensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable, GL Accounting, and GAAP.
• Strong knowledge of accounting requirements and familiarity with balance sheet review, variance tracking, and budgeting process.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Strong experience calculating CAM (Common Are Maintenance) reconciliations.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientated focus. Excellent communicator with a passion for learning and contributing.
• Software proficiency in Yardi / Argus preferred.
