Asset / Shop Manager
Job Description
The Asset / Shop Manager is responsible for maintaining the longevity of assets and controlling the asset flow throughout the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to :
- Supervise shop personnel and inventory for all DMT shops.
- Manage all assets for DMT w / special attention placed on idle trucks and trailers.
- Manage the transition and onboard for all contractors at DMT while working closely w / BLF.
- Enter data into McLeod and Fleetio Systems.
- Mail out permits and email registrations for units.
- Correct location and person for permits.
- Enter equipment and new purchases into software.
- Act as a backup liaison for maintenance department as needed.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Preferred)
- Previous transportation maintenance / shop experience (Required)
- Previous managerial experience is a HUGE plus, but not required
A successful Asset / Shop Manager must consistently demonstrate the company’s Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone.
They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Asset / Shop Manager must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
