Lead the Engineering Heartbeat of a Precision Aerospace Shop
Imagine starting your day on the machining floor, walking past multi-axis cells producing tight-tolerance components for demanding aerospace customers. You check in with a high-performing team of Manufacturing Engineers, review CAD / CAM strategies for an upcoming NPI, and then jump into a DFM session with a key client. By afternoon, you're guiding a root cause investigation with statistical rigor, and closing the day by building the business case for next-generation automation. That’s the rhythm of impact in this Director role.
Your Scope
As Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, you own the engineering strategy from NPI through process validation in an AS9100-certified environment. You will ensure every program, process, and improvement initiative pushes quality, efficiency, and manufacturability across complex, precision-machined components.
Your Leadership Focus
- Lead, mentor, and develop Manufacturing Engineers driving CNC programming, tooling design, process improvement, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Build a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
- Serve as the connective tissue across engineering, operations, quality, and production to deliver flawless execution of customer and internal projects.
Engineering Excellence Pillars
Process Optimization & Standardization : Unify and refine machining processes to reduce cycle times, elevate yields, and improve overall manufacturability.CAD / CAM Strategy : Oversee programming methodologies to ensure precision, efficiency, and repeatability across all operations.DFM Leadership : Partner with customers and internal design teams to shape manufacturable solutions early in the lifecycle.Data-Driven Problem Solving : Champion root cause analysis and statistical methods to eliminate variation and stabilize processes.Compliance & Quality
Align all engineering activities with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.Support audits, corrective actions, and documentation to sustain certifications and regulatory compliance.Collaborate closely with Quality to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.Technology & Innovation
