Salary : $20-$33 per hour
Primary Accountabilities :
A trailer technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing trailers to ensure they are in safe and proper working condition that aligns with Hoyts Service Standards. The trailer technician is responsible for 3 key areas with duties pertaining to each.
Major Duties :
Inspection & Diagnostics
Perform routine inspections on trailers to identify issues and potential problems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural problems using skills, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Repair & Maintenance
Repair or replace defective parts such as brakes, lights, wiring, and suspension systems.
Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as lubrication and tire rotations.Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and wiringInstall and maintain lighting systems, including brake lights, turn signals, and interior lightsInspect, repair, and maintain brake systems, including air brakes and hydraulic brakesService and repair suspension systems, including leaf springs, shock absorbers, and axles.Inspect and repair hydraulic systems such as lift gates and hydraulic ramps.Administration
Maintain detailed records of all trailer inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
Conduct safety checks and ensure trailers meet all legal and regulatory requirements.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring proper use of tooling and equipment.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines and stay up to date on all safety training.Work closely with all shop staff to ensure timely and efficient completion of all shop work.Complete all ongoing training and development as required.
