Locum Emergency Medicine Physician needed near Alexandria, LA starting as soon as credentialed.

• Specialty : Emergency Medicine or FM with 2+ years' ED experience
• Target Start : As soon as credentialed
• Est. Length of Assignment : 6+ months
• Minimum acceptable # of Shifts / Month : 5
• Physician Shift Times : Mon-Wed : 7a-5p, 10a-8p, 3p-1a, 4p-12a, and 8p-7a. Thurs Sun : 7a-5p, 10a-9p, 4p-2a, and 8p-7a
• NP / PA Shift Times : Mon-Fri : 6a-6p, 8a-7p, 12p-11p, and 6p-6a. Sat-Sun : 6a-6p, 9a-9p, and 6p-6a
• Staffing Model MD / DO : 49 hrs Mon-Wed and 42 hrs Sat-Sun
• Staffing Model NP / PA : 46 hrs Mon-Fri & 36 hrs Sat-Sun
• Annual Volume : About 49,500
• Patients per Day : About 135 / day
• % EMS : 30%
• % Admitted Patients : 22%
• ED Beds & Fast Track Beds : 42 ED beds
• Scribe Coverage : Yes; 10 hrs per day
• Backup Specialties : Robust backup specialties on site
• Certification Requirements : ABEM, AOBEM, or ABFM. If FM trained, physician must show proof of having worked in an ED for the past 2 years
• Will the facility accept alternative boards? ABPS? no
• Must have completed an EM or FM residency
• ATLS, ACLS, PALS, BALS Required? ATLS required for FM trained but not EM. ACLS & PALS also required
• EMR System : Meditech. Going to EPIC in March 2025
• Active LA License Required
• $500 referral bonus received for any referral who works 30 days.
