LMI is seeking a skilled Wargaming Front-End / UI Software Engineer at our office in Colorado Springs, CO. Responsibilities
The qualified applicant will support the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) Wargaming and Modeling Division (WMD) with development of wargaming simulation and analysis software front-end / User Interfaces to analyze proposed United States space architectures considered by the Space Warfighting & Analysis Center (SWAC).
The applicant will work with SSDP and SWAC team members to expand the functionality of the RAPTR software simulation to support wargaming events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Support and facilitate SSDP & SWAC Wargaming efforts, improving software and creating new tools as needed for the evolution of resiliency studies.
- Evaluate, modify, and implement the simulation and analysis tools to support SSDP / WMD wargaming events.
- Collaborate with fellow industry Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver the best-informed products.
- Modeling architectures of complex systems, to include physics-based models.
- Translates wargame event execution observations into software modifications.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in software development, space modeling, simulation & analysis.
- Experience in Object Oriented (OO) programming languages (Python, C++, Rust, etc.) and agile development processes.
- Experience in Front-End / User Interface programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, etc.) and frameworks (e.g., React).
- Background in orbital mechanics, space situational awareness, wargaming, or space control.
- Experience in STK, SOAP, AFSIM, or other space analytical toolset is desired.
- Ability to self-identify and execute work tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply analytical problem solving skills to operational and strategic level problems, accurately translate technical information for leadership, and establish partnering relationships and coordinate across external organizations.
- Must be able to obtain a TS / SCI and higher-level clearance, as required.
- Must be willing to take a Counter-Intelligence Polygraph.
Target salary range : $78,000 - $137,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and / or certifications.
