Research Associate, Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity

The research associate will work with the rest of the research team to conduct community-engaged research with Ohio State faculty and students as well as community partners at the local, state and federal level.
This position analyzes administrative data across a variety of sectors, including but not limited to government, education, and healthcare to answer mutually agreed upon applied questions within the study of poverty, race and ethnicity.
- Conduct quantitative analyses of survey and other empirical data under the direction of the associate director for research including predicted probabilities, hierarchical linear models, spatial modeling and fs(QCA)
- Create and / or edit data visualizations for Kirwan reports and presentations that translate complex data and analyses for mainstream audiences
- Contribute to the writing of both academic articles and popular reports
Required :
- Demonstrated expertise in two or more research methodologies, including but not limited to quantitative statistical analysis, qualitative or interpretive analysis, or multi-method analysis
- Master’s Degree in a Related Social Science Field (such as economics, planning, political science, psychology, public policy, or sociology) or Equivalent Experience
- 1-3 years’ experience applying social science research designs to conduct applied research

- Doctorate or comparable terminal degree
- Fluency in a second language other than English
