ABOUT Hermosa

Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals manganese and zinc as well as silver and lead.

The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Anaylyst Tax Reporting you will ensure timely preparation and filing of all tax returns, timely preparation of tax provision calculations, and various optimization projects undertaken with accuracy and completeness.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist with managing relationships with tax and revenue authorities.
• Compute, prepare and post monthly income tax accounting journal entries under IAS12 for US and Canadian entities
• Gather data and prepare supporting workpapers for the US and Canadian income tax returns
• Gather data and prepare supporting workpapers for Canadian indirect tax returns (GST, excise tax)
• Preparation of payment requests and associated accounting entries required for income tax and indirect tax liabilities and refund claims for US and Canadian entities
• Gather data, prepare supporting workpapers, and file Arizona consumers’ use tax returns
• Gather data, prepare supporting workpapers, and file Arizona personal property tax renditions
• Assist with tax authority activity including reviews, audits and litigations
• Support stakeholders by providing tax analysis and advisory related to current activities or proposed transactions
• Assist in various tax related projects related to increasing efficiency, leveraging technology and / or optimizing taxes

ABOUT YOU

• B.S. or higher in Business Administration (Accounting or Finance) or Associates degree with equivalent experience
• CPA or equivalent (preferred)
• Experience with SAP (preferred)
• 1-3 years experience working in tax or accounting
• Able to take in and assimilate relevant information quickly
• Able to achieve quality results in a timely and efficient manner
• Strong analytical skills coupled with curiosity for understanding the business operations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
