The Center for Women and Families is looking for warm, caring, and empathetic individuals driven by a desire to help others! The Director of Finance helps to move toward our vision of thriving survivors in safe communities!
The Director of Finance is responsible for providing senior leadership for the agency’s fiscal health and financial management and, as a member of the Center’s Executive Team, contribute to development and implementation of organizational policy and major initiatives.
They will oversee day-to-day operations for the Finance department while working with Executive Team members in developing and tracking agency budget and ensure mission-focused administrative support to all departments.
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to people of all identities who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault.
We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of their trauma by reducing their risk factors and building their resiliency.
We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports for use by the Finance Committee of the Board and internal departmental directors.
- Ensure that financial systems and processes support the accurate tracking and financial integrity of various grants, governmental and private.
- Lead monthly internal manage-to-budget meetings, as well as the annual budget development process.
- Oversee key agency contracts, leases, and business insurance policies.
- Provide financial analysis for various agency and programmatic proposals.
- Oversee preparations for the annual financial audit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or comparable field is required.
- Active CPA license or ability to acquire license within two years is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
- Proficiency in common accounting packages and Excel is required.
- Familiarity with database structures and common applications strongly preferred.
The Center requires the basic round of COVID vaccinations and highly recommends boosters. The Center also requires all employees to wear a mask and maintain a distance of 6 feet while working.
