Avionics Manufacturing Engineering
Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing production processes to ensure cost effective and safe assembly, test, and inspection of avionics products
Assess, address, and validate tool and equipment needs to facilitate safe, timely, and cost-effective production
Coordinate design, procurement and implementation of tooling and support equipment, executing to established budgets and timelines
Communicates with direct team, supervisor, engineers, and other management
Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research
Establishes and successfully executes approved new technology, continuous improvement, and cost-out projects
Drive productivity and product quality improvements via process changes
Participate
in bid & proposal activity, including development of non-recurring engineering and recurring product cost estimates
Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activity to ensure product producibility and testability upon entry into service
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, experience, and analytical thinking to execute policy / strategy
Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions
Uses judgment and ability to propose solutions outside of set parameters to address complicated manufacturing processes which may include technical variety and / or interdependent production cycles
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements
Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field
Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Reads and understands engineering drawings and specifications
