Main Duties & Responsibilities

Summary / Objective

The maintenance mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting,repairs and preventive maintenance service.

Essential Functions

Under general direction with periodic supervision or review performs thefollowing :

Provides emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment duringproduction and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipmentduring machine service.

Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.

Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical,pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and productionmachines.

Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform requiredmaintenance and service.

Cataloging data, data analysis and standardizing processes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

EnvironmentalSurroundings -Work is in a machine shop environment wherenoise, temperature fluctuations, the repetitive nature of the job, etc.

Unavoidable Hazards -Possiblehazards related to cuts, bruises, finger and hand injuries, and muscle strains.Exposure to moving mechanical parts, metalworking fluids, and airborneparticles.

Appropriate protective wear regarding eye, ear and clothing arerequired

Equipment / ProcessResponsibilities -Performs duties where significantproperty, tools, equipment or machines may be damaged, or man-hours lost,through improper daily maintenance and attention to processing.

Inputs set-upsand maintains CNC machines for the jobs performed. Performs Total ProductiveMaintenance as required.

Material or ProductResponsibilities -Performs duties that require closeattention to work and supporting documentations specifications and otherrequirements.

Responsible for accuracy of parts formed. Visually and / or withmeasuring instruments, checks work performed for proper results.

Safety Responsibilities -Goodhousekeeping, knowledge of good machine safety is necessary as well asadherence to and enforcement of Company Safety Rules.

Thepay scale for this position ranges from $32-$35 per hour

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Position type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of workmay vary dependent on operational needs.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day,although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

Requires minimum of five years’ work experience orequivalent skills and knowledge.

PreferredEducation and Experience

3-5 years’ work experience or equivalent skillsand knowledge.

Expertise in the set - up and operation of TsugamiMachine with Fanuc Controls.

Familiar with and capable of using StatisticalProcess Control.

Read precision measuring instruments such ascomparators, indicator, calipers and micrometers.

KNOWLEDGE ANDSKILLS :

Demonstrated ability to read and write English ofa level required in Company shop documents.

Must have good interpersonal skills as well asgood written and verbal communications.

Assist other employees as required.

Must demonstrate and be capable of applyingmathematical operations using fractions, decimals, trigonometry and geometry asrequired by machining operations.

Generally equivalent to journeyman tradeschool graduate.
