may be required in rare cases Must-Have : Proficiency in Robotic and Vascular Surgical Technology Job Description : Apply surgical technology skills to assist in patient care in the surgical suite while maintaining a safe work environment.

• Ensure quality patient care during operative procedures and constantly maintain the sterile field.- Possess thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
• Assist in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during, and after surgical procedures.- Assist Registered Nurse circulator in patient preparation, assembly of supplies, instruments, and equipment, and proper disposition of all specimens.
• Assist with all aspects of room turnover.- Perform duties according to department policies and procedures.- Monitor surgical supplies for sterility prior to use and ensure judicious use;

document and submit charges accurately and appropriately.- Monitor and document sterilization activities for completion.

• Attend in-services and staff meetings; exhibit knowledge of current department-related issues and participate in the Performance Improvement Process.
• Participate in educational opportunities to increase competency and meet personal needs and goals.- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ability to work for lengthy or irregular hours, rotating shifts, and be near moving equipment with exposure to various temperature and humidity levels.
• Adhere to safety protocols to prevent exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens. Physical Requirements : Work with occasional intermittent noise and exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, and chemicals.
• Strenuous physical effort will require walking, stretching, bending, climbing stairs, twisting, and squatting or kneeling while performing tasks.
• May have lengthy periods of standing.- Requires frequent use of side vision, lifting, pushing, and pulling.- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds.
• Requires use of both hands for precision during the operation of equipment / instruments and in the movement or positioning of surgical patients.
• Vision and hearing for distances of up to 20 feet is required, along with depth perception and the ability to distinguish basic colors.
