Job Description
Responsible for ensuring the reliability of systems, minimizing downtime, and maintaining service-level objectives (SLOs).
- Developing, automating, and implementing automation tools to streamline processes, deploy applications, and manage infrastructure.
- Setting up and maintaining monitoring systems to track system performance, identify issues, and facilitate proactive problem resolution.
- Responding to and resolving incidents, conducting post-incident reviews, and implementing improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborating with development teams to design scalable and reliable architectures that meet the needs of the application and support.
- Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in both software and infrastructure.
- Using IaaC tools to define and manage infrastructure, making it more consistent and reproducible.
- Working closely with development, operations, and other cross-functional teams to foster a collaborative DevOps culture.
- Forecasting future capacity needs and ensuring that systems can scale to meet growing demand.
- Integrating security best practices into the development and operations processes to ensure a secure environment.
- Actively participating in retrospectives and continuously seeking ways to improve system reliability and performance.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
- Implementing and testing fail-safe strategies and backup plans.
- Evaluating and optimizing data processing pipelines and load balancing; designing and managing configuration and infrastructure as code.
