Staff Accountant Sr
Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for general ledger reconciliation, budgeting and account analysis while providing accounting support to the fiscal services department and hospital leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GAAS and comply with county hospital law.
- Generate monthly financial statements for hospital and physician practices and preparation of monthly journal entries and accruals for hospital and other Riverview owned facilities
- Assist managers in the preparation of their departmental budget requests and assist CFO in reviewing and analyzing those reports.
- Compile approved departmental budget and direct preparation of budget accountability reports to assist managers in cost control.
- Develop and maintain amortization schedules for debt instruments, notes receivable and other miscellaneous contracts and agreements.
- Update and maintain fixed assets and construction in progress schedules
- Ensure all general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations related to fixed assets and construction in progress are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Prepare financial statements for other related entities.
- Responsible for all bank account reconciliations
- Develop and maintain prepaid expense schedules
- Account analysis. Act as liaison with Auditors. Prepare documentation for related entities for CMS, ISDH and other agencies.
- Back up payroll and accounts payable. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial surveys
- Prepare and analyze investment reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
Minimum : BS in Accounting, Finance, or other Business area with concentration in Accounting
Experience Requirements
- Minimum : Three (3) years experience in General Ledger and Budgeting
- Preferred : Three (3) or more years experience in Healthcare Accounting / Finance including GL, Budgeting and Analysis
