Position Summary Two full-time Research Assistant positions are available within Columbia University???s, Translational Research on Affective Disorders and Suicide Laboratory, directed by Randy P.

Auerbach, Ph.D, ABPP. Research Assistants will support NIMH funded research focusing on elucidating neural (e.g., EEG / ERPs, MRI), behavioral, and real-time markers (e.

g., passive sensor data, EMA) of depression and suicidal behaviors in adolescents.The positions are full-time, starting June 2024 (or as early as if feasible).

A two-year commitment is requested, and renewal of the appointment is contingent upon continued funding. A period of evaluation will be required.

Flexibility in working hours is a plus. Responsibilities Initiating and maintaining contact with study participants; screening applicants, ensuring they meet appropriate criteria, and making independent judgment as to the suitability of their participation.

Working in concert with Principal Investigator to develop and to implement patient / participant recruitment. Organizing and maintaining the databases.

Conducting experiments with neuroimaging (EEG, fMRI) data and experimental tasks. Assisting in completion of institutional review board applications.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned / requested. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications Experience working with patients with mood disorders, including familiarity with clinical assessments (e.

g., K-SADS), is a plus but not a requirement. Computing and software skills in multiple platforms are helpful as well as familiarity with statistical software packages (e.

g., SPSS, R). Other Requirements Must successfully complete all online systems training requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to interpret the acceptability of data results.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants. Good oral and written communication skills Knowledge of clinical research protocols.

High degree of computer literacy and knowledge of data management programs. Excellent organization skills, ability to prioritize a variety of tasks, and careful attention to detail.
