Minnesota Urology is hiring a Full-Time Medical Coding Assistant
Schedule is Monday- Friday
Regular Daytime Hours, No Evenings, No Weekends, No Holidays!
Hybrid Remote Option
JOB SUMMARY :
Provide assistance in coordinating and gathering information to assist the Coding Department.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Creates new patient information in NextGen charts and enters demographic information for outlying clinics into the practice management system and creates visits.
- Verifies and audits patient information against the physician's schedule from outlying clinics including referring physicians to coordinate information.
- Follows up with outside facilities to obtain patient information or dictation. Acts as a liaison for the patient between the clinic, and referring physician, in addition to consulting payer websites.
- Transcribes information from the physician's surgery lines onto a Word document.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / LICENSURE :
- One to two years of coding experience or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong insurance knowledge and experience are required.
- Knowledge of EMR systems is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is helpful, but not required.
