Job Overview : A law firm specializing in health care litigation is seeking a mid- to Senior-Level Associate Attorney to represent hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers in complex litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, with a focus on reimbursement disputes and corporate healthcare issues.
Duties :
- Represent hospitals, health systems, and healthcare providers in litigation matters, including shareholder disputes, reimbursement lawsuits against significant health plans, and multiparty litigation.
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents related to health care litigation.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes with opposing counsel.
- Review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents relevant to healthcare litigation.
- Participate in arbitrations, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trials.
- Conduct thorough legal research and remain updated on healthcare laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Requirements :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
- Experience in healthcare litigation, particularly in reimbursement litigation.
- Proven track record in managing multiple complex cases independently.
- Strong writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines effectively.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience in business-focused healthcare litigation.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance issues.
- Previous experience in managing and mentoring junior associates and legal staff.
