How you make a difference
Under supervision, the Radiology Technician is responsible for explaining procedures to patients, positioning patients and equipment, performing examinations, developing film, and maintaining and operating specialized radiologic equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and position patients and equipment to administer radiopharmaceuticals and obtain clear, usable diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients during examinations to ensure their safety and prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Insert commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences and adjust density or contrast as necessary.
- Report important information to the Physician, update patients' records, and perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and offering pre-procedure advice.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment and perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient daily procedure schedules for emergencies and adequate monitoring of radiographic supplies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology Program
Experience
Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
Licenses / Certifications
- Must have and maintain current certification within the state.
- Must also obtain and maintain CPR certification.
