What We’re Searching for :

As a Maintenance Manager you will oversee all the facility’s maintenance functions, developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance and improvement programs.

You are responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems; both mechanical and electrical. The Maintenance Manager recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, yield, and will need to prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and write equipment maintenance procedures.

You must display leadership as well as planning and project management skills. The possession of strong organizational skills is a necessary component to this position.

This Maintenance Manager will support our Tampa location.

How You Will Contribute :

• Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good safety practices and habits.
• Maintain an awareness of the proper functioning of equipment and fixtures in each area.
• Purchases parts, equipment, etc. and hires outside contractors; plumbers, electricians and other skilled trades as needed.
• Maintain a preventive maintenance calendar to direct proactive work in each area.
• Maintain a list of preferred sources for maintenance services and supplies.
• Maintain and use manuals and drawings for equipment and facilities.
• Support all areas and prioritize work so that Hood Container Corporation customers are not negatively impacted.
• Communicate any conflicts, resource shortages, ongoing problems, or significant expenditures with management.
• Perform housekeeping on a continuous basis to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
• Suggest / Identify ways to improve cycle time, reduce errors or reduce cost of processing.
• Other duties as determined by Plant Manager.

What it takes :

• High School diploma; College and / or related technical courses a plus.
• Computer / Data entry skills.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills.
• Two plus years of maintenance experience in a production facility.
• Corrugated industry experience is preferred

Two years’ experience in industrial building or machinery maintenance including specific knowledge or experience in the following : power transmission, HVAC, electrical, PLC, carpentry, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics
