SUMMARY
Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Staff Geotechnical Engineer / Staff Geologist supporting our geotechnical engineering practice.
Our ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role will be responsible for the following tasks outlined below.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for performing field and laboratory sampling and testing
- Scheduling of projects with vendors and field personnel
- Typing of boring logs / lab data
- Assisting project management team with geologic research
- Preparing site plans and other report exhibits
- Assisting with report and proposal preparation
- Job may require some infrequent out of town travel
QUALIFICATIONS
- 0-2 years' experience in soils reports, soil laboratory testing, or other engineering / construction activities
- Engineering or Geology degree is a BIG PLUS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
- Some parts of the job may require bending, reaching, and standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift.
- Field work including hand-augers, infiltration tests, logging and sampling of soil borings, will be needed from time to time
- Laboratory work, including lifting and moving soil samples and lab equipment, sieving of soils and aggregate, etc. will be needed from time to time
- Proficiency on Microsoft Office Software or similar software preferred
COMPENSATION
$43,000-$59,000 (based on education, licensing, location, and professional experience)
