RSM’s Financial Services practice serves a range of clients in the asset management, capital markets, financial institutions, specialty finance and insurance industries.

On this particular team,you’ll work with complex clients in the Capital Markets industry with a focus on broker-dealers, futures commission merchants, investment banks, fintech and proprietary trading & high-frequency trading firms.

Our team focuses on tax compliance and tax consulting for some of the most complex and well-known companies in the capital markets industry.

As a Tax Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the following job duties, which are centered around three core concepts : Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service / Business Development.

Responsibilities :

Lead and manage complex client engagements with a focus on high-value quality tax advice and seek to expand services to Capital Marketsclients, including :

Broker-Dealers

Futures Commission Merchants

Investment Banks

FinTech

Proprietary Trading and High-Frequency Trading Firms

Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor or coach, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback

Train and develop staff members

Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm

Drive growth and profitability to the Capital Markets practice by generating new revenue on existing client portfolio, cross selling and new clients for the tax practice

Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, consulting, etc.

Serving as Tax client service coordinator while developing and executing the firm’s client service plan

Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards

Build relationships across lines of business to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach

Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance

Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law

Some travel may be required(varies based on location, line of business and client need)

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

8+ years of experience inbusiness taxation working for a Big 4 or a large national, regional or local accounting firm; or equivalent in industry or with a law firm

Active CPA, JD / LLM or EA

Extensive tax compliance & consulting experience serving Capital Markets clients

Strong working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance

Ability to manage and grow a book of business

Proven track record simultaneously managing multiple projects and client engagement teams from start-to-end

Preferred Qualifications :

Masters of Accounting, Masters of Taxation or MBA

Proven track record generating new business and extending service opportunities

Compensation Range : $88,400 - $167,200

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
