Position Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grounds maintenance, with a particular focus on irrigation systems, bed preparation, composting, mulch installation, and plant installation.
This role is crucial in maintaining the beauty and health of our outdoor spaces. Key Responsibilities : Irrigation Management : Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage.
Monitor irrigation schedules and adjust as needed based on weather conditions and plant needs. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to irrigation systems.
Bed Preparation and Cleaning : Prepare garden beds for planting, ensuring soil is properly conditioned and ready for plant installation.
Regularly clean and maintain garden beds, removing debris, weeds, and dead plants. Composting : Manage composting processes, ensuring that organic waste is properly decomposed and reused to enrich the soil.
Apply compost to garden beds to improve soil fertility and plant health. Mulch Installation : Install mulch in garden beds and landscaped areas to retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and enhance the appearance of the landscape.
Monitor mulch levels and replenish as necessary. Plant Installation : Install a variety of plants, including trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals, according to design plans and specifications.
Ensure proper spacing, depth, and placement of plants for optimal growth and aesthetic appeal. General Grounds Maintenance : Perform routine groundskeeping tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, and leaf removal.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized. Qualifications : Proven experience in groundskeeping or a related field, with a focus on irrigation systems, bed preparation, composting, mulch installation, and plant installation.
Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscape maintenance, and plant care. Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and irrigation controls.
Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
