Ware Malcomb has an exciting opportunity for an Interior Designer to join our Retail team in New York! The Interior Designer role provides an excellent opportunity to sit onsite with one of our clients, a Fortune 500 Company.
You will be responsible for assisting in the development and production of design concepts for multiple retail store roll out projects while providing excellent service and meeting client goals.
The Interior Designer will function as a design partner to our clients in house team and should have an understanding of how to take projects from concept through design development and executing coordinated and detailed sets of drawings.
Retail Interior Designer Responsibilities :
- Meet with clients to develop ongoing relationships and determine clients’ project goals.
- Follow projects from inception through construction in order to maintain design quality and intent.
- Conducts programming efforts such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting, and color coordination.
- Prepares and conducts client presentations.
- Responsible for selection and specification of furniture, lighting, flooring, wall covering and artwork. Estimates material requirements and preliminary costs.
- Solicits bids and assists Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings required.
- Supports the Construction Administration phase responding to RFI’s, CO’s, and reviews shop drawings.
- Keeping the project team on schedule and on budget while providing a cohesive design.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and direct junior staff in correctly documenting design.
- May mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff and deliver staff performance evaluations.
- Support and attend your group’s Ware Malcomb activities. Be involved in design community organizations.
Retail Interior Designer Qualifications :
- Retail store design experience
- Understanding of fixture / millwork design and detailing
- 5+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of 3D Rendering programs, including Sketchup, 3D Max, Lumion, Rhino
- Well versed in Adobe Suite including Photoshop and InDesign
- Knowledge of Powerpoint
- Hand sketching skills is a plus
- Knowledge of FEE / Specifications
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Able to quickly execute design iterations
$60,000 - $90,000 a yearThe compensation range is $60k-$90, plus benefits. . The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, licensing, project specialty / complexity and work location.
