Director Neuro Oncology, Medicine, Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Boston University School of Medicine & Boston Medical Center

The Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Boston University Aram V. Chobanian and Edward Avedisian School of Medicine (BUSM) and Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a fellowship trained neuro oncologist to serve as Director of Neuro Oncology (DNO).

The DNO will join a rapidly expanding cancer program at BMC, a 514-bed academic medical center that serves a diverse patient population from the city of Boston and surrounding areas of New England.

Based within the Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology, the DNO will collaborate with physicians and staff in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Radiation Oncology to provide multi-disciplinary care for patients with primary and metastatic CNS and spinal malignancies and expand the neuro oncology program at BMC.

The DNO will have opportunities to create, expand and direct clinical trials program and work with laboratory-based investigators on basic and translational studies.

In addition, the DNO will be directly involved in the education and training of medical students and residents and fellows in multiple allied specialties.

With the DNO’s input, a full-time advanced practice provider will be recruited to support the program and provide administrative support for the existing multidisciplinary tumor board conference, case follow-up, and coordination of patient care.

Faculty appointment will be commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments.
