Job Brief
The ideal Mechanical Engineering candidate will help design, build and test various power generation devices, systems, and equipment.
Duties include identifying potential problems and providing sound and practical solutions with various machinery, perform testing as necessary to validate operation and performance as well as to improve future designs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, conceptualize, and create structural, mechanical and fluid power system designs associated with packaged generation equipment.
- Size, specify, source and select components, materials, and equipment to be used in the construction of packaged generation equipment including structural, mechanical, fluid, and thermal systems.
- Conduct classical, back-of-the-envelope calculations for determining stress, deflections, thermal expansion, heat transfer, mass flow, flow velocities, pressure drops.
- Help supervise the development of 3D computer designs; produce, redline and review drawings; mentor and guide junior team members and contracted vendors.
- Define and develop test plans as required for validation of components and / or systems. Conduct such tests including selection and setup of instrumentation, collection of data, interpretation of data, provide as necessary solutions to address undesirable test results, provide coherent test reports and presentations.
- Assist other department engineers in creating practical solutions to design and implementation challenges.
- Analyze performance data and share recommendations with the appropriate departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer in machinery and support structures,
- Design and modeling experience using SolidWorks and / or AutoCAD Inventor producing parts, assemblies and drawings.
- Strong interpretation and implementation abilities Self-starter.
- Displayed sound reasoning ability and technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively via reports and / or PowerPoint presentations.
- Working experience with standards from organizations such as ASME, API, ASTM, NACE, and others.
- Flexible to travel in the United States and worldwide.
PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS :
Salary Range* : $37-$40 on W2
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
