Your Role :
As Line Cook, you will be highlighting the importance in the kitchen's daily operations and overall success. Your responsibilities will include :
- Food Preparation, Prepares ingredients by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, or preparing sauces as per the recipes provided.
- Cooking and Assembly : Cooks menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Station Management : Manages their assigned station in the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is in working order and ingredients are stocked.
- Quality Control : Ensures that all food products adhere to the restaurant's quality standards and specifications.
- Communication : Communicates effectively with the kitchen team, ensuring smooth coordination during service.
- Adaptability : Able to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
Requirements :
- Proven experience as a Line Cook in a smokehouse environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary innovation.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Background about the Chef, Raheem Sealey :
Growing up on the island of St. Croix, Chef Raheem Sealey exhibited culinary talents from a young age. He got started cooking in the kitchen with his grandmother as a child and has fond memories of working alongside her prepping the vegetables for Thanksgiving Dinner.
With that inspiration at heart, decided to move to the states to pursue opportunities for them both.
In 2009 he moved to Miami and enrolled in the Cordon Bleu. While pursuing his education, his ambition kept him busy staging in some of Miami's best kitchens, including Michael's Genuine.
After graduation he took a position with Sugarcane, honing his skills on the robata grill. Those skills caught the attention of other and Chef Raheem was soon recruited by Zuma where he met Chef Michael Lewis.
At Zuma he continued to develop his creativity, passion and leadership skills, rising to the rank of Sous Chef before moving on to Paoas an integral part of Paul Qui's opening team.
When KYU opened in February 2016, Chef Raheem joined the team as Sous Chef and was quickly promoted to Executive Chef. During the pandemic, Chef Raheem started The Drinking Pig, recognized as the best barbecue Miami has to offer.
