Summary
Buckle is seeking experienced and talented individuals who desire to take their skills to the next level. As an Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager, you will work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates, and provide leadership.
You will also share responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and act as the Store Manager in their absence. This role includes additional high-level duties specific to the Assistant Manager position, although the majority of job duties and responsibilities are shared.

Sales Generation and Guest Service
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service to each Guest.
- Eagerly answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
- Anticipate and fulfill Guest's needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
- Demonstrate product utilizing product knowledge and sales education, consistently sharing that knowledge with the team.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
- Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
- Provide legendary service throughout the store in key areas : Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
- Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty.
- Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
- Lead by example with high levels of showmanship, excellent customer service, and attentiveness.
- Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the Manager is present.
- Plan sales goals with Store Manager.
- Demonstrate ownership of store's sales performance.
- Passion for product education and showmanship to create results.
Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
- Recognize recruiting opportunities by utilizing Jobs & Careers cards and email referrals.
- Coach and create relationships through Guest Loyalty.
- Assist in leading, directing, motivating, and educating new Teammates to meet Buckle’s accountability and sales presentation standards.
- Maintain a positive attitude to create a positive floor culture.
- Participate effectively in daily setup, training, and reviewing while utilizing the Performance Tracker.
- Motivate Teammates to complete daily tasks set by Store Management.
- Partner with Store Manager to pick store’s education focus and help delegate and implement focus all week.
- Assist Store Manager in Recruitment of all store staffing needs.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with contact lists and adding top talent consistently.
- Identify and follow through on all Teammate training needs.
Visual Merchandise Management
- Own and influence product through zone ownership, recognizing and assigning Zones and projects to Teammates.
- Partner with Store Manager to delegate, demonstrate, and review all zones.
- Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed.
- Responsible for visual standards on the floor and backroom.
Operations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Understand and utilize planner including completion of Opening and Closing Checklists.
- Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store.
- Communicate any policy violations and concerns to Store Manager in a timely manner.
Supervisory and Leadership
- Comfortable in giving and receiving feedback from peers and Management.
- Supportive of Leadership.
- Motivated to self-educate on all company tools.
- Handle all schedule changes in a positive and professional manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assists the Store Manager in supervising.
Education and / or Experience
High school diploma or GED; or related retail experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Relocation may be required.
- No visa sponsorship is available.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel as required.
