About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Tech Job Specialty : OR Tech (Operating Room) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day - 3x12 - 06 : 00 - 18 : 30 Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Not required Certifications : BLS Must-Have : Robotics experience and strong ortho experience Job Description : Clinical profile review required, followed by a phone interview with the manager.
- Experience in robotics and strong orthopedic skills are essential.- Work in a unit with 9 OR suites handling approximately 40 cases per day.
- A mix of cases includes 70% outpatient and 20% add-on rate per day.- Required to work under the supervision of a charge nurse who oversees OR, PACU, PreOp, and Endo.
- Coordinating with CSTs who are required to have BLS certification.- Sterile Processing Techs are present and need BLS certification;
they handle processing, decontaminating, and packing trays.- Weekend work involves 15-20 cases on Saturdays.- On-call requirement of 5-6 shifts in an 8-week period.
- Scrub color provided by the employer.- Round-the-clock access to RT and Pharmacy.- Flexible shift options : 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts with high need during nights.
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 days on-the-job training.- Common patient cases include heavy ortho, general surgery, gyn, robotics, and uncomplicated ENT.
Outpatient procedures include ENT, hernia, and gyn. Outpatient pediatric cases mostly involve tubes and tonsils. C-sections are performed in L&D.
Familiarity with Cerner charting system is advantageous.- Orientation includes 12 hours of training.
