Salary Range : $76,905 - $92,286

We are looking for a Board Certified Behavioral Specialist who will be providing consultation on behavioral interventions to clinical staff, social workers, staff in Community Services, Quality Assurance, and Vendorization Departments in their ongoing efforts to serve individuals with developmental disabilities.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Regional Center Services, this position provides oversight and monitoring on specialty group homes (Enhanced Behavior Support Homes and Community Crisis Homes), from program design approval, continuous monthly monitoring, behavioral quality assurance, etc.

It also provides consultation on behavioral interventions to clinical staff, social workers, and staff in Community Services, Quality Assurance, and Vendorization Departments in their ongoing efforts to serve individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve behavior plans developed by Service Providers and develop, conduct, and / or monitor trainings and workshops within the Agency and in the community for staff and providers based on an assessment of needs within the community.
  • Work with staff and service providers to ensure appropriate and quality services and responsible for conducting quality assurance assessments relating to client developmental center / community transitions.
  • Provide expert testimony at State Level Fair Hearings for matters regarding behavior health treatments as needed.
  • Review, interpret, and disseminate Lanterman Act and associated relations, including but not limited to, Title 17 and Title 22.
  • Participate in review of Request for Proposals for behavioral services by reviewing the written proposals, participating in the group discussion and decisions, and providing technical assistance and consultation on quality assurance services.
  • Assist the Community Services Unit with review of program designs for new behavioral services, including professional training and educational backgrounds of applicants and consult with Quality Assurance team as needed.
  • Conduct, in accordance with regulation, monthly in-person quality assurance visits to Enhanced Behavioral Support Homes (EBSH) and Community Crisis Homes (CCH).
  • Participate in Behavior Modification Review Committee to ensure that behavioral services funded by GGRC do not cause pain or trauma.
  • Compile data for and send annual report to the Department of Developmental Services regarding the number and type of licenses held by each facility in which approved treatment plans were implemented.
  • Attend CAPTAIN (California Autism Professional Training and Information Network) meetings, write reports and keep records as required and according to accepted professional standards.
  • Provide support with hiring, training and supervision of the State Staff Contract for Psychiatric Technician. Participate in quarterly meetings with other Regional Center behavior specialists within other Northern California regional centers.
  • Participate in special projects, and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned. Assist in the SSRS and 4418.7 requests submitted by social workers and maintain tracked information for specialty housing within the GGRC catchment area.
  • Maintain all information for individuals served as confidential in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field to behavioral analysis.
  • Board Certification in Behavioral Analysis or the ability to become Board Certified as a Behavior Analyst. Certification must be obtained within 6 months from the date of hire.
  • 2+ years experience in providing behavioral management services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working in and developing home, school, and community-based ABA programs.
  • Experience writing and implementing ABA-based treatment programs.
