About The Position
Job Title : RN ICUJob Specialty : ICU RN Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 hours, 3x12 shifts per week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 1 year of experience License : Current RN License Certifications : Current Basic Life Support and ACLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have : - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services - Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs Job Description : - Provide nursing care in a hospital environment to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments;
note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. - Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver patient care competently.
- Interact with family and patient in sharing the care plan during hospitalization and upon discharge. - Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegate tasks to support staff. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills & Experience : - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Good verbal and written communication skills.
Some computer skills. Preferred Education : - Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program.
